News about the town: Royal Nazis
Harry goes to a costume party in the new year and dresses like a Nazi, so there are growing calls for him to say sorry publicly (rather than have his family issue a press release on the matter).
Again not the smartest move for the prince, given the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz later this month (27 January). Also, given the furor over the Queen's uncle you would have thought the Windsors would steer well clear of this sort of thing...
The Queen is also in trouble today for being overheard saying that Paris will get the 2012 Olympics. While she could be forgiven for stating the obvious, London still has its bid on the table and is trying to show enthusiasm for the bid. Just before Christmas I boarded a Jubilee tube train completely covered in the garish logo and colours of the bid. It was too bad they didn't plaster the train with the posters of the gymnast on the "gherkin"... Much more pleasing on the eye!
